about

Almost like a lullaby, nursery rhyme, or church hymn; too sweet for IDWF!

lyrics

Born in the sunshine, born in the rain
Born at the wrong time, born with no name,
Born in a castle, born in a field,
Born so defenceless, born with a shield

Why, why-why,
Why-y-y we here?
Why, why-why,
Why-y-y we here?

Some find their solace going to church
I tried a few times, it didn’t work,
My expectation might have been wrong,
Too many sermons, not enough song

Why, why-why,
Why-y-y we here?
Why, why-why,
Why-y-y we here?

Why, why-why,
Why-y-y we here?
Why, why-why,
Why-y-y are we here?
Are we here?

about

Glass Angel Bristol, UK

Glass Angel were active between 2015 and 2020. They released their debut album as a New Wave Indie quartet, in 2017. ‘In Dreams We Fly’ was described as a ‘masterclass in songwriting’ and ‘a powerpop kaleidoscope and punk pop as f**k’.
The group then recorded the 'Fight or Nah?' EP’ as a trio, just before the first Covid lockdown. They have been on indefinite hiatus since its 2020 release.
